8 Form: Card 4 (Education)

Card 5. Task 3. You are going to give a talk about the system of education in Great Britain and Russia. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and speak for not more than 2 minutes (10-12 sentences).

Remember to say:
• how long secondary education lasts in Great Britain
• what pupils are put into "sets" for
• why comprehensive schools (not grammar or secondary modern schools) were introduced in Great Britain
You have to talk continuously.

Suggested introduction and conclusion:
Education is the process of the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. Education is commonly divided into such stages as preschool or kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and then college, university, or apprenticeship.

To conclude, the purpose of secondary education can be to give common knowledge, to prepare for higher education, or to train directly in a profession.
That's all that I wanted to say.
